Web design and AI automation for Surrey businesses

Surrey customers often search by town centre, not just by city: a roofer in Cloverdale, a physiotherapist in South Surrey, a bookkeeper in Guildford. AIVIQ builds websites, AI phone and text agents, workflow automation and business email fixes for Surrey businesses at fixed prices, from CAD $150 for a basic website. Every job starts from a written brief and a written scope, with no compulsory sales call.

A Vancouver studio, working remotely for Surrey

AIVIQ is based in Vancouver. We don't have a Surrey office, we don't make on-site visits, and we won't pretend to have a list of Surrey clients to show you. Everything runs remotely: you send a written brief, we send back a written scope and a fixed price, and the work happens by email and shared documents.

The rest of this page is written to be useful whether or not you hire us. It covers how people in Surrey tend to search, how to set up your Google Business Profile for the parts of the city you actually serve, and the local paperwork worth checking before you advertise.

How Surrey searches

Town centres change the words people type

Surrey is big enough that many residents describe where they live by town centre first. Someone in Cloverdale may type "roofer Cloverdale" rather than "roofer Surrey", and Google can treat those as different searches with different results. If your website only ever says "Surrey", you leave it to Google to guess whether you cover the area the searcher named. The table shows the kind of search to expect and what your site should make obvious.

This does not mean you need six pages. Google treats near-identical pages with the place name swapped as doorway pages. A better pattern is one strong page per service, with the town centres you serve named naturally in the service-area section, the contact page and your Google Business Profile. Add a separate town-centre page only if you have something different to say there, such as a second staffed location.

Google Business Profile

Setting service areas for Surrey and its neighbours

  • Hide your address if customers don't come to you. Trades and mobile services working from home should set service areas instead of showing a home address. Our guide to Google Business Profile for service-area businesses walks through the settings.
  • Start with Surrey, then check the community names. Type each town centre into the service-area field and see whether Google offers it. Add only the ones you genuinely serve.
  • List White Rock, Delta or Langley separately. They are separate municipalities. If you cover them, add them as their own service areas rather than assuming "Surrey" stretches that far.
  • Keep the details identical everywhere. Business name, phone number and "Surrey, BC" should match across your website, profile and directory listings.
  • One profile per real location. Creating extra profiles for town centres where you have no staffed premises breaks Google's guidelines and can get listings suspended.
Websites

What a Surrey service business site needs

Most local searches start on a phone, often from the map results. Your site needs to answer three things fast: what you do, whether you cover the caller's part of Surrey, and how to reach you. After that come the details people check before they commit: prices or price ranges, photos of real work, and what happens after they get in touch.

Our website design service is the same for Surrey as for anywhere else in the Lower Mainland. A Basic Website Build is CAD $150 for up to five simple pages from copy and photos you supply, mobile-friendly, with basic on-page SEO and one revision. It does not include logo design, ecommerce or complex booking. A Small Business Site is typically CAD $899 to $1,200 and adds a copy structure for each service, a quote or contact flow, analytics, forms and launch support.

If you already have a site that gets visits but few enquiries, Conversion Rescue (CAD $699) fixes the messaging, structure and calls to action without rebuilding. The local SEO guide explains what else, beyond the website, affects who shows up in map results.

Calls and follow-up

When you're on a job and the phone rings

The phone rings while you're on a roof or with a client, and by the time you call back the customer has phoned someone else. There are three honest options, and the cheapest is not always wrong.

  • Voicemail plus a fixed callback habit. Free, and enough if your call volume is low and you reliably call back within a few hours.
  • An AI phone and text receptionist. It answers routine calls and texts from approved information, collects the caller's details and hands anything that needs a person to you. Our own receptionist, Ivy, answers +1 778 900 9944 by voice and SMS so you can try it. Read more about the AI receptionist service. Phone numbers, call minutes, SMS fees and AI model usage are separate provider costs.
  • A complete follow-up workflow. Operations Starter is CAD $1,995 one-time after scope agreement and covers one workflow, such as email assistance, phone intake or owner reporting, with up to two tool connections, testing, documentation and 30 days of agreed-scope defect correction. See AI automation for how scoping works.

Emails drafted by an automation start as drafts, and a person approves anything that commits your business to a price or a date.

Business email

Quotes that never arrive

If customers say they never got your quote, or your website contact form has gone quiet, the cause is often a DNS record rather than the customer. Start with the free public check of your MX, SPF and DMARC records. If it finds one clear, low-risk problem, a quick fix is CAD $49 for one domain. Larger repairs are scoped in writing. We never ask for passwords by email, and we record your existing DNS before changing anything. See business email help for the full list.

Local practicalities

Licences and local networks in Surrey

City of Surrey business licence. Most businesses operating in Surrey, including many home-based ones, need to check their licence requirements with the City of Surrey. Requirements depend on the type of business, so check with the city directly before you launch or advertise.

Working across municipalities. If you are a mobile trade working in Surrey and neighbouring cities, look at the Metro Vancouver Inter-Municipal Business Licence. Check whether your trade and the municipalities you work in participate before relying on it.

Surrey Board of Trade. The Surrey Board of Trade can be a useful place for a directory listing and for referrals from other local owners. Keep your details there identical to your website.

If you also serve the city next door, our Langley page explains the City and Township split, and the Tri-Cities page covers Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

Questions people ask

Do you have an office in Surrey or come to my business?

No. AIVIQ is based in Vancouver and works remotely. You send a written brief, we reply with a written scope and fixed price, and the work happens by email and shared documents. A call is available if you want one, but it is not required.

Should I make a separate web page for each Surrey town centre?

Usually not. Near-identical pages with only the place name changed can look like doorway pages to Google. Name the town centres you serve on your service and contact pages, and create a separate page only when you have something genuinely different to say, such as a second staffed location.

Why does my Guildford business show up next to results from England?

There is also a Guildford in the county of Surrey, England, so a search for 'Guildford Surrey' can be ambiguous. Write 'Surrey, BC' in your page titles, contact details and Google Business Profile so search engines and customers can tell the two apart.

Is White Rock part of Surrey?

No. White Rock is its own city, next to South Surrey. If you serve customers there, list it separately on your website and in your Google Business Profile service areas, and check its business licence rules separately.

Do I need a City of Surrey business licence if I work from home?

Home-based businesses in Surrey generally still need to check their licence requirements with the City of Surrey. Rules depend on what you do and where, so confirm directly with the city rather than relying on a general guide.

What does a website for a Surrey business cost with AIVIQ?

A Basic Website Build of up to five simple pages from your supplied copy and photos is CAD $150. A fuller Small Business Site with service pages, a quote or contact flow and analytics is typically CAD $899 to $1,200. Anything larger is quoted in writing first.

Tell us which parts of Surrey you serve and what customers ask first.

We'll reply with a written scope and a fixed price. No compulsory call, no on-site visit needed.
