Web design and AI automation for the Tri-Cities

Locals call Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody the Tri-Cities, but Google and most customers still search city by city, and often neighbourhood by neighbourhood. AIVIQ builds websites, AI phone and text agents, workflow automation and business email fixes for Tri-Cities businesses, at fixed prices from CAD $150. You start with a written brief, not a sales call.

Start a written briefWhere to start first
Three cities, one catchment

Customers say "Tri-Cities". Search engines see three cities.

If you run a business in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam or Port Moody, your customers probably cross between the three without thinking about it. Search doesn't work that way. Google matches a search to a named place, so "electrician Port Moody" and "electrician Coquitlam" can return different results, and very few people type "Tri-Cities" into a search box when they need a plumber today.

Before going further, the honest part: AIVIQ is based in Vancouver and works remotely. We have no Tri-Cities office, we don't make on-site visits, and we don't claim local clients. What follows is practical advice you can use with or without us.

Neighbourhood searches

The place names your customers actually use

People often search by neighbourhood, especially for services that come to the home. A customer on Burke Mountain may not think of themselves as searching "Coquitlam" at all. Naming the neighbourhoods you genuinely serve, in plain sentences, helps both the customer and the search engine.

CityNeighbourhoods customers nameHow they often search
CoquitlamBurke Mountain, Westwood Plateau, Maillardville, Austin Heights"Coquitlam" plus the service, or the neighbourhood name on its own
Port CoquitlamCitadel Heights, Mary Hill, downtown Port Coquitlam"Port Coquitlam" or the short form "PoCo"
Port MoodyHeritage Mountain, Moody Centre, Inlet Centre, Ioco"Port Moody" plus the service

"PoCo" is worth a mention in your copy if you serve Port Coquitlam, because people really do type it. Don't stuff it into every heading. Once, in a natural sentence such as "we work across Port Coquitlam (PoCo) and Coquitlam", is enough.

A common decision

One page for the Tri-Cities, or one for each city?

Plenty of business owners are told to make a page for every city they serve. For three cities this close together, that advice often backfires. Three pages that say the same thing with the city name swapped look like doorway pages, and Google may ignore or demote them.

Use these questions to decide:

  • Is anything actually different? A different crew, a different price, a separate location or different local rules justify a separate page. A different name alone does not.
  • Do you have something real to show for each city? Photos of real work, specific questions customers in that area ask, or travel details are genuine content. Generic filler is not.
  • Can one page say it better? For most Tri-Cities service businesses, one strong page per service with a clear "areas we serve" section naming all three cities and the neighbourhoods you cover is the stronger choice.

A simple service-area line does most of the work. For example: "We work across the Tri-Cities: Coquitlam, including Burke Mountain and Westwood Plateau, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody." Put it on each service page and the contact page, and keep it accurate. If you stop travelling to one area, take it off, so you are not fielding calls you will turn down.

Our local SEO guide covers the rest of the picture: reviews, consistent business details and what moves map results.

Google Business Profile

Service areas when you work across all three

You get one Google Business Profile per real business location, not one per city. If customers don't visit you, hide your address and set service areas instead. Add Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody separately. "Tri-Cities" is a local nickname rather than a municipality, so Google may not offer it as an option.

Then make the website match: the same business name, phone number and list of areas on your contact page and in your footer. Our guide to Google Business Profile for service-area businesses has the step-by-step settings and the mistakes that get listings suspended.

Local practicalities

Three licences to think about, and one chamber

Business licences. Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody each issue their own business licence. If you work in more than one, check with each city about what applies to you. Requirements vary by business type and location, so get the answer from the city rather than a general guide.

Mobile trades. If you are a contractor or mobile service working across municipalities, look at the Metro Vancouver Inter-Municipal Business Licence. Check whether your trade and the municipalities you work in participate.

Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is a place for a directory listing and for referrals from other local owners. Whatever listings you have, keep your business details identical to your website.

Where to start

Fix things in this order

  1. Make sure email worksIf quotes or contact-form messages go missing, nothing else matters. Run the free public check of your MX, SPF and DMARC records. A quick fix for one clear, low-risk problem is CAD $49. See business email help.
  2. Get a website that answers the basicsWhat you do, which of the three cities you cover, and how to reach you. A Basic Website Build is CAD $150 for up to five simple pages from your supplied copy and photos. A Small Business Site is typically CAD $899 to $1,200 with service pages, a quote flow and analytics. Details on our website design page.
  3. Stop losing callsIf calls go unanswered while you work, an AI phone and text receptionist can answer routine questions from approved information and pass the rest to you. Call Ivy, our own receptionist, on +1 778 900 9944 to hear one. More on the AI receptionist service.
  4. Automate one workflow, not everythingOperations Starter is CAD $1,995 one-time after scope agreement for one complete workflow, such as email assistance or owner reporting, with up to two tool connections. Read how it works on the AI automation page.
Working together

How a remote project runs

You send a short written brief: your services, the parts of the Tri-Cities you cover, and the questions customers ask most. We reply with a written scope and fixed price that lists what is included, what is extra and what we need from you. For automation, payment is 50% on scope approval and 50% on acceptance. Provider costs such as phone numbers, hosting and subscriptions are listed separately. Nothing about being outside Vancouver changes the price.

If you also work west of the Tri-Cities, see our pages for Burnaby and New Westminster.

Questions people ask

Can I add 'Tri-Cities' as a service area in Google Business Profile?

Google may not offer it, because it is a local nickname rather than a municipality. Add Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody as separate service areas, and use the phrase 'Tri-Cities' in your website copy where it reads naturally.

Do I need a business licence from each Tri-Cities municipality?

Each of the three cities issues its own business licence, so if you work in more than one, check with each city. If you are a mobile trade, also check whether your trade and the municipalities you work in participate in the Metro Vancouver Inter-Municipal Business Licence.

Should I make one web page for each of the three cities?

Only if each page would say something genuinely different. If you serve all three the same way, one strong page per service with a clear service-area section is usually better than three copies with the city name swapped.

Is there a chamber of commerce for the Tri-Cities?

Yes, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce serves the area. Membership and directory details change, so check with the chamber directly for what a listing includes.

Do you visit businesses in Coquitlam or Port Moody?

No. AIVIQ is based in Vancouver and works remotely. Briefs, scopes, design reviews and handover all happen by email and shared documents, with an optional call if you want one.

How much is an AI receptionist for a Tri-Cities business?

Setup is scoped in writing for your business before any work starts. Phone numbers, call minutes, SMS fees and AI model usage are separate provider costs that vary, so the written scope lists them separately from our fee.

Tell us which of the three cities you serve, and what customers ask first.

We'll reply with a written scope and a fixed price. No compulsory call.
